Re: CPQ and its earnings

There seems to be some confusion regarding CPQ's earnings or lack of earnings. These are the actual reported numbers:

Rev. Earnings EPS
7323 667 .42
5687 16 .01
5832 -3632 -2.33
8791 115 .07

If CPQ maintains its current earnings rate, it should recoup the cash that it cost to purchase DEC in 31 quarters or about 8 years.

If CPQ could spin off Alta Vista and raise 1B it could shorten the time to recoup its expenses.

As it stands today, CPQ is a poor investment at best and it has a negative PE in real terms.

On the SI Investor profile CPQ's losses have been reduced to footnotes and then operating profits are reported. This gives the false impression that CPQ is doing better than it is actually doing.
From this it is reasonable conclude, that CPQ is making a concerted effort to promote it stock by misleading the naive investors.
