Well I wouldn't call 98 hard to install at all.. in fact on a new machine a 98 install takes about 2% of the brain power required to install Linux.. NT is a little trickier, but 5.0 is much better than 4.0..

All of this is kinda academic.. it's basically a question of "Does linux catch up to NT first, or the other way around".. You are hearing a lot about Linux now.. when NT 5.0 comes out you won't here half as much.. and don't forget.. if you don't like MS, but don't wanna go Linux there is always Netware on a server or OS/2 on a desktop.. both with key applications available, but not much else.
