*AV* - we got a light dusting of snow today and the weather was finally cold enough to put on a heavier jacket. Your description of the weather here in Colorado and skiing analogy has me hankering real bad to get up to the slopes and ski. Your descriptions make me long for the slopes.

However, I have a small problem this year. My son and I purchased new skis and bindings and I was going to have him rent boots since it makes no sense to waste $250 on a set of boots he will grow out of next year. I have this great pair of boots that used to fit real well but have gotten a tad bit uncomfortable. Sort of like, ski down the slope, feet hurt, unbuckle the boot and let feet dangle until we get to the top of the lift, rebuckle anski and then repeat the process. works rather well since ffet are find by the time we get back on top of the mountain. When my son finally found a pair of boots that fit extremely well, I discovered he had put my real nice comfortable EXPENSIVE boots on his feet. So guess who inherited my boots and who is now renting his boots for the season.<GGG>

I will have to wait for the end of season sales to pick up a new set of boots. Funny thing is, the guy at the Sporting goods store rented the boots to me for the season for $10. Why the hell would I buy a pair of boots then. At $10/yr, I could rent higher end more comfortable boots for 25 years prior to spending as much for a mid range pair of boots. Something wrong with this picture, eh???

Oh well, my son now has a set of skis, boots, and accessories that cost more than this month's mortgage payment.<GGG> Ah, to be young and spoiled !!! I guess if I can find a good set of boots, I will pick the up but so far, no one has my size in stock (29cm) so I rent.<GG>

Andrew

BTW- you left out some items like slipping and sliding down the mountain roads on the return trip, the blinding snow storm you have to drive through in both directions, the lift lines that allow rigor mortis to set in, the snowboards who cannot control their actions, and of course, the women dressed to kill in their ski bunny outfits that make you lose your concentration enough to cause you to have intimate relations with trees. And finally, the moguls that pop up outta nowhere that let you go airborne and crash land.
