FredB....nice analysis on value of AMEN, Lycos, Yahoo, and the like...however, the one point you missed is the fact that all the others are all "generic" search engines competing directly against each other, whereas AMEN has actually carved out a niche of the market that is unique and growing...I've bought into AMEN based on the fact that the concept makes a lot of sense ("clean" version of Yahoo) coupled with the fact that they've got the same number of hits/day stats that Yahoo had not so many years ago....yes, its depressing to have seen them go from 2 to 40, back down to 8 in a matter of days (especially since I'm one of those who bought 1000 shares at 37!!), but if people thought this thing had that kind of value just days ago, it will easily recover and the second news hits, you'll see double the bounce...also, because brokers are making it tougher to short the Internet rockets, we see less of a run from shorts looking to cover, which usually results in nice positive runnups....I've averaged down based on the fact that I know they'll make a move shortly...check out the last 2 hours of action of Friday (up 1 point in the last 2 hours of trading)....check out the DLJ Direct minute-to-minute chart...http://www.dljdirect.com/cgi/inet/qndigest.trn?selection=stock_chart_gif&symbol=AMEN&chart_type=1&bg_color=W&grid=y&command=DisplayAlso, if you haven't done so, check out their website...nicely done overall....http://www.crosswalk.com/ |
