I agree with you completely- which is odd, since usually I only agree with Penni.

I have also envied people with faith and we discussed this on one thread or another a year or two ago. Of course I like the way my mind works, so I'm not sure I would trade it in NOW for the kind with belief hard wired in, but there must be great comfort in thinking that if you only do such and such you will be rewarded with everlasting existence- for don't we ALL want that? To know that all suffering has some sort of greater purpose, and that injustices occurring on earth may be redressed in the hereafter- great comfort.

But it probably does lead some people to believe that if injustice can be redressed by God, why worry about it here? And further if life is everlasting, doesn't that CHEAPEN it a little? For me the bottle of life is finite, and I am drinking it up pretty fast, it is pretty good stuff and I wouldn't want to waste any, now would I wish to waste any that belonged to another.
