Paul, I think there will be "surprises" on both the Katmai technology and marketing fronts. Intel has had a good deal of time to learn from its MMX mistakes, and one thing Intel excels at is responding to challenges. I've also been told that Intel is starting to "leak" some Katmai information to certain brokerage houses, and is probably one reason why there has been heavy institutional buying lately. Intel has also said recently the Katmai launch will be associated with the biggest marketing blitz in their history, tauting Katmai-optimized software, the Internet, etc. It will be interesting to see how AMD responds...contrary to the AMD stalworts here, I predict AMD will be scrambling to incorporate KNI (and save face at the same time!!) joey
