<< . Why anyone would buy a disposable, difficult to upgrade PC is hard for me to fathom.>> SF, I agree completely in theory, CPQ is difficult to upgrade and DELL, NUEI, HWP, etc make much better boxes from that perspective. But I think the majority of people want to go to a store and touch and feel a computer and have a salesperson help them. This is where CPQ shines, and in reality, most people are not going to add more dram or bigger hard drive to their box once they buy it. That is the huge advantage that CPQ has. I have bot several Micron boxes and love them, I have owned MUEI DELL and CPQ stock for some time, and on friday added CPQ at 39 1/2, because i think it is in a breakout mode. MUEI needs something to vault it into the top ranks, IMO, Micron and Dell make the best boxes, but everyone knows DELL, CPQ, HWP, IBM, and Gateway. MUEI is still almost a cult following. I think that a merger would really be good for the firm. Personally, I think HWP would be the best acquirer. Can you imagine the name recognition HWP would give to MUEI. lots of luck to us all. larry |
