Greg, It's been too long since I saw the inside of a MKII, so I can't recall if there was an extra crossbar ASIC in there. I just remember seeing the four 4-port ASICs, plus the I960 CPU. I wish I had a photographic memory. <g> 1.7us is suspiciously close to three times 540ns, so perhaps you get 540ns of latency per ASIC, including the crossbar. It would be interesting to see how a SilkWorm or Arcxel's switch compares. After perusing the links that George provided, I think it is only a matter of time before we see some head to head comparisons. Then we will find out how close (or how far off) we were. <g> Craig
