Rubin tells Clinton he wants to resign-Japan paper TOKYO, Dec 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin recently told President Bill Clinton that he wanted to resign shortly after the Christmas holiday, a Japanese newspaper reported on Monday. Quoting unnamed U.S. government sources, the Sankei Shimbun reported out of Washington that Rubin had sounded out Clinton about resigning his post, but that Clinton had asked him to stay. Clinton conveyed his ''strong desire'' to Rubin that he stay in the post at least until a replacement was found, the sources were quoted as telling Sankei. biz.yahoo.com
