Nothing like beating a dead horse, although sldram is probably the dead horse and DDR will have a place just not in PC;s.
Until someone designs a chip set that some large companys would use, the only senario I could imagine just thinking would be if an AMD compatible chip set came out supporting DDR; Camino was delayed,
it might get enough of a head start to get some momemtum going before Rambus came out and squashed it.
I guess if I bought a socket 7 AMD CPU and it could run 500Mhz with a 133Mhz front side bus chip set that supported a reasonably priced memory solution that had increased performance for the money then I would buy it whether it was Rambus or DDR or 133Mhz SDRAM, but then I am not your typical hi-end WS user with multistreams of video and data flying thru my system.
The race is over before it really started with Intel leading the revolution.
