Questions for all:

First of all, I am wondering how many cubic feet are contained in a barrel? I ask this question because I have seen posts referring to both millions or trillions of cubic feet, and also referring to BOE (barrels of oil equivalent??)

I guess another important question would be the difference between the price of a barrel of oil, and the price of a barrel of gas (the barrel just being an equivalent volume of oil/gas to use for comparison purposes)

I ask this because in post 226 johnlag does some calculations based on 800 million BOE (this was back when they thought they were going to hit oil I guess?). Now we are hearing the potential for trillion of cubic feet of gas. ? So, I'm just trying to figure out how these "volumes" compare.. and then by taking into account the difference in price between gas and oil we would all be able to modify the calculations ourselves.

So, to recap, I'm looking for how many cubic feet are in a barrel of oil (BOE). Also, I'm looking for a comparison of the price for either a cubic foot of gas to oil, or a barrel of gas to oil...

Thanks in advance...

Chad
