You know, of course, that there are certain religions that believe this. Pre-destination, karma, etc. Well, I guess with respect to karma, you are responsible for your own misfortunes.
I saw a T-shirt in the mall today, taking the phrase, "S*** happens," and giving versions depending on religion. Not something I'd care to own, but it showed some original thought and insight.
Catholics: "S*** happens because you deserve it." Protestants: "If you work harder, s*** wouldn't happen." Islam: "It is the will of Allah that s*** happen. Hinduism: "This s*** has happened before and it will happen again." Atheists: "S*** doesn't happen." Rastafarians: "Let's smoke this s***." |
