This is certainly true. And as far as the net advertising awareness goes, I have seen over a
dozen barnsandnobel.com ads on the mainstream TV shows this weekend and not a single
amazon commercial.


I noticed this too.

B&N has admitted in the past that they got dragged into this net BS by their heals 'cause
they knew it was a loser as a business. But now that they are into this trading stamp game
they and their partners will keep amazon unprofitable and let it bleed to death. All B&N
really has to do is break even on net books to accomplish this. Same goes for all the other
lines amazon can try out like toys, drugs, sex, etc. -g-


You do have the point here. BKS has stated this is not a profitable way to do business. They just could not let AMZN not have competition. BGP is hardly making an effort for the same reason. I just cannot see how AMZN will ever turn a profit. I can see them doing a secondary next year to raise more cash.
