Sure there will be banner advertising. Just not to the extent of the competitors. The advertising budget should soon increase as the revenue flow increases. TSIG is now on the march. If Christmas sales at CDNW are so good, why do they need to have a 30% off sale? They would not be fearing the loss of customers due the influx of new competition would they? Let them incur more losses. The hole they are in will not need a lid. It will just collapse and bury them.
