John - someone posted here (a long time ago) about his carrier inviting owners of QCP 2700 model handsets to "come on in" and have new, more powerful software "up-loaded" into their handset for free.

It was unclear whether all Qualcomm handsets had this capability, or only the QCP 2700.

Ever since I read that post, I have been relieved that I spent the extra (roughly) $50 for the 2700 (over the 820), even though I have still never "roamed" onto analog (yet).

Jon.
