Wally:
Did you happen to catch Bob's Y2K comment on Saturday? I thought he put an interesting spin on it that I hadn't thought about before -- that Y2K expenses for U.S. companies are non-reoccuring expenses; thus once they are behind us, could actually improve a company's earnings picture going forward. I've always differed with Bob on Y2K and thought he has downplayed its significance. But based on his extremely irritating habit of being right more often than I am, I'm going to downgrade my worry level on Y2K, at least as it affects U.S. companies. But I still maintain U.S. government agencies and foreign companies and governments are going to have mammoth problems because they are way behind the 8 ball and can't possibly catch up at this late date.
