One interesting thing I have heard is that if shipments do go up there is
no easy way for additional capacity to come into the industry. Trucks are supposedly in short supply for next year pretty well booked as far as new trucks and to build another Fedex or UPS network would be huge. One analyst said it could take 10 years or more to get even close. If so if/when internet commerce takes off, Fedex and its competitors seem to be right in the sweet spot to get the additional shipments. Any ideas as to the validity of these comments?
