Jim they had replaced the old cable along the road with a new one about a year ago. Their temp fix was to move me over to the old cable until they've repaired the problem with the new one. Ask your Telco if they have any fiber between you and the CO, if so...then ask if they use Lightspan. Some of the Lightspan hardware located where the copper meets the fiber will limit the speed to 24K or there about. If that's it...I doubt they'll shell out to replace the hardware. Also ask them if they've duplexed the line, that will limit you to 24K+/- too.
