AFCI thread,

AFCI and Ciena both mentioned favorably in the Barron's article. The question remains...is UMC1000 a unique solution and can it compete with the products of other larger companies with much greater R&D budgets and established business relationships? In my region there are newer companies competing with the local Bell (USWest) for selected residential and small business customers. DSL is slow to catch on here.

I noticed that TLAB has an 8% interest in AFCI. Is it possibly a takeover candidate?

The balance sheet looks clean. Ongoing long-term relationships and some off-the-shelf sales to US Govt. contractors would help fill the void created by the loss of the GE business.
