A note of caution on the Table by Berney and on the statistics: the
leaps in the table (and stocks as well after all) are so diverse
that averages just dont make sense.

It is instructive to plot RR on leaps agains RR of stocks. Heres
a sorted table:
WMT 45.60% 421.40%
MO 45.70% 320.70%
IBM 39.90% 288.20%
MRK 35.30% 217.70%
MCD 21.80% 86.70%
JNJ 15.80% 57.50%
UTX 4.00% -26.60%
GE 7.50% -30.00%
PG 7.60% -30.90%
GM 3.00% -55.30%
EK 1.90% -55.60%
T 1.80% -66.70%
CHV -0.50% -66.70%
ALD -1.00% -76.80%
XON -2.70% -81.10%
AXP -3.20% -84.90%
KO -6.30% -90.00%
UK -12.40% -91.90%
GT -18.70% -95.50%
CAT -14.40% -96.30%
JPM -18.40% -97.00%
DIS -22.90% -97.90%
MMM -13.10% -98.20%
BA -35.00% -98.60%
IP -18.00% -98.70%
S -25.60% -98.80%
HWP -14.70% -99.10%
DD -26.00% -99.40%

So at least 12 (which is cca 50% of the lot) leaps are worthless
(due to time factor, theyre out of money who knows). And the
rest - well the rest is what makes our life beautiful.
Right Juri?
