Jim: Ballard's only public mention of the Chicago buses was in its third quarter report: biz.yahoo.com Reading the description, about halfway down, one might think that bringing them back to Vancouver was part of the plan all along.

Subsequently, there were some rumors that things were not so benign as the company tried to pretend. This viewpoint was backed up by some good reporting by the Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Letter, a normally pro-Ballard publication, which I summarized and quoted in posts 3374 and 3376 here. This letter typically posts its table of contents on the web, and usually the text of one story. I haven't checked yet, so I am not sure whether this story will be available on the web. Hope that helps.
