Hi Skeeter,

mary, did you know 20k to 30k children will die today of starvation? do you know why? not for lack of food. for lack of international cooperation and conflicting self interests. just b/c you and your have food doesn't make the world just.

Your premise above is flawed. The reason the children are starving is fundamental: A biological population will always grow to exceed the food supply...period! The war, the drought etc. is just a trigger not the underlying cause. Until birth control is used in underdeveloped countries to limit the birth rate...this continues. In a sense, it is just the natural order, in another sense, it is tragic and preventable...but NOT by shipping more food...that just ends up making the problem bigger...like welfare.

The problem is that it is not Justice... if it were Justice, the bubbleheads who send food and not contraceptives, or worse forbid through misguided dogma, contraceptives, would have to starve instead of the kids.

Sorry for raving...market is making me crazy.<g>
