JSF, a last word about ubid-mall.

For my 100 MALL shares how many UBID shares do I get?

The separation:
As ever, if and when the uBid-MALL separation takes place, which might be mid June (earliest), you will find:
100 MALL AND additionally 72 uBID.
The MALL (remaining MALL business) shares may trade at $5 or $8 or $10, and the 72 uBID shares are normaly tradeable then.

To break even (MALL ~ 43) you need MALL trading at $8 (for example) and UBID trading at $48. If the market is bullish as now, uBID fares well and the additional uBID shares will be sought up in the market then it is not impossible. Though it is a far way to go from now.

I read over Thanskgiving weekend that the UBID IPO would drive MALL up.

Yes that was true, MALL was a $5 - $9 stock before. Then the IPO was announced, hence driving the price up. But it was undisputed that after the IPO MALL may deviate for several reasons. Tables have been set up to show which uBID market price was necessary to support a MALL price of x. The discount to uBID was surprisingly high, though, although few can make use of it. With MALL at $24 you "own" uBID at cheap prices but you don't have it right now...

The real problem was uBID was talked up to $100 and more, and honestly, I could not believe it happen. Though uBID was surprisingly good, and hit $60 the first day. Note that uBID was offered at $14-$15, the company didn't get more than that, gross.

Now I think, uBID must go almost to 100 to lift mall from the 20ish ground early.

C.
