Bob,

First of all, let me say congratulations on your new thread. May you have many hits and few spammers<G>

Regarding Kurlak. Kurlak's calls on the semi and semi-equip sectors have been so poor lately in part because I believe he has lost all objectivity, a critical element in being a successful analyst. He entirely missed the boat on INTC and when in fact he does realize this, he upgrades their competitor, AMD!?!? Over the course of this period of time INTC rose from ~72 to ~107 while AMD rose from about ~18 to ~27, farily equal percentage wise. What really got me was the fact that over this exact timeframe, INTC came out several times and had said demand for their chips was robust, and they also appeared to have taken care of initial problems with the Celeron and were now a serious threat to AMD. Knowing this, why in God's name would he upgrade AMD and not also upgrade INTC???? Out of spite? To prove something? Nobody will know for sure but one thing is certain, he has lost all objectivity and is now relegated to being a member of the Garzarelli Club.

Here's a history of brokerage calls on INTC:
