Our local Edward Jones office doesn't accept cash anymore. I can see the day when banks charge you to deposit cash and turn it into digital dollars. It may be one of the few ways they have of making money other than local business and consumer loans. I can buy CD's from my broker, by mail, and probably all over the net, for better return than my local bank. The banks are getting into the brokerage business just as it is starting to disintegrate. The times they are a changing -- Almost too quickly for us old farts.
