Interesting. I suppose that computer usage falls into two areas-- the first is using the computer to complete some other task, like your taxes, or to play a software game. The second would be maintenance of the computer system, making sure that things work, that you know whats on your system, backups, etc..

Then there are the complaints-- X doesn't work, where the true hidden reason that X doesn't work is either 1) X works, but the user is clueless, or 2) any of a thousand different reasons.

I'm not sure, but I think that breaking down computer usage into pieces might help us get a grasp on this topic.
