Appreciate your post. I sure enjoy your thoughts on other boards.
I will have to admit that shorting SPY has not been my greatest idea. Since I started this thread I have intermittently used SPY as a hedge and only occasionally has it worked. Your concept of using it the other way around is very intriguing. I still think the SPY vehicle has great potential, but it may end up being just as a long-term, long hold. I guess what it boils down to is, SPY represents what is really just about the best (better than 90% or so) mutual fund out there, as the S&P 500 is managed pretty much like a mutual fund,with minimal but strategic and well thought out position changes.

Will be looking closely for more of your "bold print" pronouncements on the BK thread!
