Zeuspaul, you brought up allot of good questions, unfortunately or *fortunately* the system is now stable. After changing the keyboard (I don't think that did it) the system has stabilized.

The bug is not as common now that I have removed allot of software. I did have a problem with PhotoShop last night, but that may just be a PS5 issue.

I have not claimed victory with this problem. I still have a feeling it will show up again, but after this procedure, the system is now about 80% stable:

REMOVED
WordPerfect 8 (With service pack 5)
HotDog 5
Iomega Zip software
Some other misc crap
and
Swapped my Keytronic KB101 Plus for the original Dell cheapy.

Still has me thinking this is software related, as my old Dell XPS 400 I sent back because I thought it was defective, as running certain software Netscape, Hotdog, I would get a gray screen, and would have to COLD boot the machine.

That gray screen issue has popped up the ODD time on this XPS 450 system. The Dell I sent back had an STB video card, so does my new one. Maybe the software doesn't like STB drivers?

Another PROBLEM, I found a floppy with a boot virus, my notebook computer comes up with a warning screen, advising of the virus, where my Dell goes into the gray screen and locks up. Both machines are running the same virus software and configured the same way. Go figure?

P.S.
I have run a complete scan of every file for viruses, that's ruled out. On both Dell's. The one I sent back and the New one.
