LG-

I only began following the 5-day TRIN about a year ago. Readings over 6.0 (which do not happen that often) usually indicate a move up on the S&P by 8-10% within 2-4 weeks. More extreme readings indicate a major low. I do not know what the typical day trading trends are, as I use it only as a 2-4 week indicator. I was out of the country last week, otherwise I would have bought calls at the open on Friday. I was simply hoping to get a better entry. With the market up a few percent now from the low, I may sit this one out.

Recent 5 day TRIN 6.0+ readings occurred on 6/15, 8/31 (extreme reading over 8), a rare double hit on 9/22 and the 9/29-10/1 window (when it hit over 8 again). This is the first signal we've seen since the major low, and frankly I'm surprised we got it this early.

I have not been able to use the TRIN as reliably on the downside, so I just sit and wait for 6's.
