(REUTERS) Rival Co. hires advisers after unsolicited offer Rival Co. hires advisers after unsolicited offer KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov 27 (Reuters) - Small kitchen appliance maker Rival Co. <RIVL.O> said Friday it hired an investment bank to help it in discussions regarding an unsolicited takeover offer. Rival, whose shares climbed 3-1/2 to 10-14/16 on Wednesday, said it hired NationsBanc Montgomery Securities to help it evaluate the unsolicited offer. Rival declined to name the source of the offer. In a statement, Rival said it does not expect to provide any further information unless and until it reaches a definitive agreement.
