MSFT had their argument that 'this was technically necessary' from the beginning. Now if you have several professionals stand up and say, no here are some other ways, you have removed the necessity part of the equation, which leaves everybody thinking about why MSFT really put the system together in the competition-unfriendly way it did.

At least, I think having some other engineers make a case that there were alternatives has little downside in front of this judge, if not a jury.
