Why would you expect your broker to divulge that they are paid for order flow? Some do (Brown and Company). Others, it's like pulling teeth. If it's not a big deal, I see no reason for him not to give his customers (and prospective customers) information which would allow them to make informed decisions. If, on the other hand, it's a significant chunk of the ticket price, you're right, he has every reason to play dumb. Caveat emptor.
