I share what I can on this board. I have many contacts in the industry along with WS analysts who follow SFA and the MSO's. As you know, their are at least 10 major cable co's already in trials. You and I should find out in short order what server will be operating in these "pre-commercial roll out beta tests". I have only mentioned those that have the potential in my opinion, to launch by year end. Many more will be prepared to throw their hat into the ring in the first quarter. Remember, 48 head ends have been shipped and installed by SFA (up and testing) with 30 more to be delivered and installed over the coming months.
Intertainer dumped their technology partner, Sun Microsystems, to go with CCUR. The most experienced MSO in digital interactive services and the pioneer of the full service network concept, Time Warner, has selected CCUR as one of the two server vendors for there beta tests (Time Warner, unlike all other MSO's, requires two vendors for major system components). Prasara, the engineering and software programming brains behind the Full Service Network in Orlando, have chosen to work with and develop on a Concurrent platform (these guys used Sun, Ncube and SGI while at Time Warner).
Now, are you still wondering if CCUR is involved in these trials!!!
Guess who will be at the Java Expo in New York City today? The answer: The CEO of an interactive PC centric service that recently dumped Sun Microsystems. I plan to shed my Goodboy cover and visit this show to hear just how big intertainer can be. I will make sure that I send TM Rent a private message with all the details. Not!!!! |
