Okay,everyone -- how about gelled ethanol/alcohol as a fuel?

It at least has the advantage of being relatively safe; gives off only water, carbon dioxide when burned; can be used in a portable ventless firebox. Its major drawbacks seem to be 1) the actual expense of the fuel (almost $4.00 per 16-oz. can), 2) it does not provide that much heat!

However, there is hardly any discussion of this on the web, from what I can see. So if anybody has any familiarity with this mode of heating/cooking, I, for one, would appreciate hearing more...
