well, here's one view as to why: "Revenues in the quarter came in above forecast with strength in the MAX product family, an impressive feat considering the dawn of Ascends' next generation products," said Johnson. Johnson said Ascend again shipped, but did not record any revenues from its MAX, TNT or GRF product families. In light of the upside surprise in the quarter, and impressive backlog for both the TNT and GRF, Johnson said he is raising his fiscal 1997 estimate to $1.61 from $1.50.
