My Vote - The Faces Having quickly scanned this thread and seen no reference to them, I gotta bring them up. First, let me establish that I've seen a lot of rock'n'roll bands over a lot of years, and that I consider a Bob Marley & The Wailers show (1978) on of my spiritual highlights. That said, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Ronnie Lane et al, as the Faces, before Rod went Hollywood, were in my opinion the quintessential kick-ass rock band. Musta been 1975 or so... They came on stage toting their own bottles of Jack Daniels, which were empty by the end. Ronnie Wood fell over on stage and never missed a note. Stewart's voice got rougher and better as the JD kicked in. And they had so much fun together! Chaos as art, without a hint of ego. RDH
