just noticed a block trade of 85,700 go by at 44, the day's high, current bid/ask 42 15/16 - 45 -- time 12:29:38. up 1 3/4 -- give or take a point depending on next trade. just checked again : last trade @ $44, of 500 shares, bid/ask 43 7/8 - 44 1/8 in general there has seemed to be good institutional demand -- often see big blocks (not this big) on the ask. eg: two successive 25,000 blocks @ 43 at 12:19:15 and 12:19:36 on NYSE, up from previous trades at 42 3/4. Followed by 10,000 @ 43 at 12:21:57 edit: just watching the replay on Quote.com : the trade previous to the big one @ 44 was at 43, so that 85,700 was definitely a buy
