I think Mr. Smithwick is a paid CAP supporter.
Perhaps he could respond to the following:

1) Relative sensitivity to impulse noise compared w/DMT.
2) Granularity of Rates acheivable.
3) Cost/power consuption/size comparison w/DMT modems if
RA and spectral shaping are incorporated into CAP modems.

IMHO, if you add all the bells and whistles onto a CAP modem,
you have a DMT modem.
