Hmm. Well, sometimes the Long-suffering Husband does give me a bite of what he is eating, but I usually just take the spoon in my hand. But sometimes I just eat the proffered bite off the utensil.

When my chilluns were little, I had those baby spoons with soft white plastic covering the bowl of the spoon. If you are careful not to touch the fat little cheeks, you won't trigger that instinct that makes them turn their heads and get food in their ear. And I always used special baby washcloths. I made washing the face into a game.
