Brian,
Seems people are starting to realize intc's move to slot one was a poorly designed attempt to protect their monopoly money. This article has some great lines, " Several companies, most notably Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. and Cyrix, are now making microprocessors (CPUs) that have essentially caught up with longtime industry-leader Intel." and even better, " If we're lucky, Intel's proprietary Slot 1 systems will whither into a dead limb on the PC's evolutionary tree." He also makes a nice analogy comparing intcs attempt to a dominant light bulb manufacturer changing to square bulb sockets. Nice article!

Also, I read a recent interview with an AMD engineer where he stated we're all going to be pleasantly surprised at the reason for the K7 having a L2 cache running at 1/3 the clock speed of the processor, any ideas? I haven't seen a single post which attempts to figure out this statement. Any help would be appreciated.
