Kerm,
It's rather ominous that your message was #666!!!
The water is, of course, a concern, but everyone involved thinks it is coming from a water zone that we drilled through at 1200 feet, and is seeping through a cracked casing.
I have to say that if it was coming from the Temblor, there would be a tremendous volume of steam (I am talking huge) being generated, as the volume of water being produced from that zone, at that kind of pressure, would also be enormous. The fact that the flare itself hasn't diminished bodes well. The presence of high volumes of water would relieve some of the pressure downhole (water doesn't expand to anywhere near the extent that gas does), when the pressure reduces to atmospheric at the surface. If this was Temblor water, I would expect a smaller flare.
I think we are still safe in assuming the reservoir, as we saw it 3 days ago, hasn't changed.
Of course, the markets are a different beast entirely. Maybe we should view this as a buying opportunity, keeping a watchful eye on that flare.
