Adding MIRC Servers:

By no means am I an expert on mIRC. I have used it for several months though and thought I might be able to assist. Here goes…

1. On your 'mIRC Setup' screen, click on the “Add” box, located above the default server location that appears.

2. The 'mIRC Add Server' screen appears. This screen has 5 fields that can be entered: “Description”, “IRC Server”, “Port(s)”, “Group” and “Password”. There are also 3 buttons: “Add”, “Cancel” and “Help”.

I have been able to locate 8 Othernet servers. The info to add each server appears below. I always leave the “Password” field blank. After entering the data for the other 4 fields, press the “Add” button. This will bring you back to the 'mIRC Setup' screen.
Your newly added server is displayed as your default server.

To add additional servers (remember, I know of 8 of them), click on the “Add” button and repeat step 2.

3. You can edit, delete and sort your servers by clicking on those buttons. I always go into “Edit” to insure I have entered all my data accordingly.

4. The sort key is very helpful. After entering all 8 of your Othernet server location data, click on the “Sort” button and your Groups (determined by the “Group” parameter on the 'mIRC Add Server' screen) will be sorted.

5. IMPORTANT!!! After all entries are added and sorted, click on the “OK” button on the 'mIRC Setup' screen. If you do not click on “OK”, none of the work you have done setting up these servers will be saved.

6. Return to your 'mIRC setup' screen, locate any of your "Othernet" servers and connect.

The 8 Othernet servers I am aware of appear here. If anyone knows of others, or of an easier way to download all servers into the IRC Servers file, please feel free to help.

Make sure your syntax is correct. Type everything as you see below to insure proper connection to the server. Good luck and enjoy.
