Bill and Melinda Gates have been giving to children's health charities for years. They made their first donation to PATH (the organization that will coordinate the grant expenditures) in 1995 and gave PATH another significant donation last year. This particular donation has been in the works for nearly a year. Your cynicism on this donation is misinformed and disgusting. They are going to save literally hundreds of thousands of children's lives with this program and they will do it in a more effective way than any other philanthropists I know of. The Gateses have already put over $2 billion into their foundations and they will do much more over the next decade, completely unrelated to any business concerns. Get a life, Toy. It's more dignified to acknowledge and appreciate a great act than to try to look for some nefarious motivation.
