Does the SPY trade exactly like a stock?

For example, if I called my broker and said "I want to buy 100 shares of SPY," and it was trading at, say, 118 3/4, does that mean the cost of the shares will be 11,875 (+commissions)?

Thanks in advance!

(have never traded SPY before, but want to)
