OK Gang, Time to help out a lurker specify his Dream Machine. My needs are Internet, spreadsheets, office aps, Quicken etc. Do not game or use other resource intensive programs. This probably means that the Cyrix 166 with 32 meg ram I have is really all I NEED. My wants however differ and I'd like comments, advice, and also a recommendation of an assembler as I don't know which end of a screwdriver to hold. Celeron 300a overclocked to 450 128 ram (100 sdram) Should I pay up for Corsair or other? ABIT BH6 motherboard 10.1GB IBM Deskstar ATA-3 at 7200 Or the 8+/- model? Video Card Maxtor Mistique G200 or ??? Sound card ??? something cheap as I won't be into 3D Case and cooling enough for the overclocking heat US Robotics Internal Sportster V 90 56K Standard floppy, 32x CD, internal ZIP drive. Windows 98 May just use my old mouse and keyboard Would also like recs for a monitor 17 or perhaps 19 not over $450 What am I forgetting? Hope to have this delivered to my doorstep for <$2000 TIA Don
