Dear Shawn, I am trading stocks for about a 1/2 year now. I have never traded options though and was trying to learn how to do it on the example of PRGS (since there was much discussion about it on this thread), but I have chickened out. Mostly because I do not understand yet the interplay between rumors, options, and the common shares. More specifically: (1) you are saying that " speculation on news was almost quaranteed to carry the stock price over 20". Why ? Why today and not, say, last Friday ? (2)why was the price of RGQAD going up today? I would think that people would be selling. Sorry for the totally ignorant questions. Wiesia.
