Hi,
Well, you just luck out. I have found the message from Ameritrade.
"Thank you for your two Email messages concerning program trading software. The program trading software is part of Accutrade for Windows (AFW). This program can only be used in conjunction with an Accutrade account. The software allows your Modem to dial directly into the Accutrade servers. It does not go through the Internet. In addition to placing orders, viewing account information, and getting price quotes, the software has a capability to establish scripts for unattended trading. Also, this software may not be practical for overseas accounts, because it requires "800" access which is not vailable from overseas and overseas customers would be responsible for communications costs to local U.S. numbers. The way it works is that you would be required to set up a script (or a series of scripts) for a certain action (such as placing an order) to occur upon the ccurrence of a certain event (such as an equity or index reaching a specific level or upon the execution of a specific trade in your account). Price levels and index levels are monitored through periodic quote downloads that you would also establish. Since everything would be controlled on your computer, the AFW program would have to be open continuously during market hours, although it may be minimized.
If you are interested and you provide us an address, we will be happy to send you an AFW Users Guide which has a section concerning this feature. Then, if your interest continues, we could send you the actual software. However, you would not be able to go online without an Accutrade account. Also, please let us know if you have any further questions."
Sincerely,
Glenn Carson Accutrade Technical Support 1-800-555-4137 (402) 596-8543 Ext. 4563
