Re. L2 cache at 1/3 CPU speed
It looks like 600mhz may be the starting clock speed for K7.
The upside of that could be a very large L2 cache running at 200Mhz +
In File servers this could be a distinct advantage where the size of the cache is as important as the speed of the cache .
