It also reported "50% reduction in cost per MB within the flash card industry from 1997 to 1998."

Together those statements translate to a 270% annual growth rate in terms of unit sales. So volume obviously isn't the problem. Margins are the problem. If SNDK drops its prices in half every year, within five years a 40MB CF card will sell for around $5. If that happens, volume will become synonymous with bankruptcy.

I share everyone's joy with the recent runup in SNDK's share price. Here's hoping that it "has legs".
