LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1998--
Sedona to Offer Data Products From Leading
Data Provider as Part of Business Intelligence Solutions
Sedona(R) GeoServices, Inc., a Scangraphics(R) company (NASDAQ: SCNG), today announced that it has signed an agreement with Acxiom(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: ACXM) to become a value-added-reseller of data products from the Acxiom Data NetworkSM (ADN). The data products will be offered as one component of a comprehensive suite of business geo-intelligence solutions built around Sedona's SpatialVision(tm).
Acxiom is widely respected as a leader in providing concise and accurate data to business users on demand. ADN is Acxiom's on-line access and delivery system that allows customers to use the Internet for selection and distribution of desired data products.
Sedona's SpatialVision provides easy-to-use, timesaving features to optimize a business's rapid return on information investments by exploiting the geo-spatial components of business data. By displaying geographic information on maps, businesses can use SpatialVision to manage accounts better, provide visual decision support information, support site planning and in any application where business data is easier to understand when delivered visually. SpatialVision provides this capability to query, distribute and view the information across the entire enterprise.
Developed purely with Sun Microsystems' Java(tm) (NASDAQ: SUNW), SpatialVision is platform independent and has been designed for optimal performance and deployment via the Internet and corporate Intra and Extranets. Use of Java enables simple, cost effective customization, adaptation to various environments and rapid development of complimentary and discipline-specific applications. SpatialVision integrates with Oracle8i Spatial (NASDAQ: ORCL) and can be run locally, remotely or through a web browser. Sedona and Acxiom are working together to tailor SpatialVision to meet clients' specific needs for integrated business solutions.
"As an Acxiom Data Network partner, we now can offer business solutions that are data enabled with the most comprehensive and accurate data sources available" said Colin Matthews, President of Sedona. "The ADN initiative fits extremely well with our vision and direction to develop and deploy web enabled business solutions that offer benefits to users throughout the enterprise. Our customers are realizing these benefits in terms of their competitive advantage gains derived from the enterprise-wide access to data and tools which support everyday decisions."
"By integrating ADN directly into SpatialVision, users are no longer constrained to waiting days or weeks for enhancement information. They now have access to the best information available when and where they need it, allowing them to respond faster to marketing opportunities and competitive threats," states Mark Theilken, leader of Acxiom's Data Group.
